Monument to Saint George
In the dynamic movement in the area of General Grigorenko in Lviv , in front of the regional police department, frozen figure of St. George (George) Zmeebortsa. Bronze pedestal depicts the courageous rider on horseback, who is trying to pierce the snake spear.
The place was not chosen by chance: a monument erected in honor of law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the fight against crime. George is the patron saint of all Zmeeborets warriors.
Monument created brothers Suhorskie sculptors, which are also known as the authors of the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Lviv.
Sculpture in honor of the policemen appeared relatively recently, in 1999. Previously there was a monument to Franciszek Smolkov known Polish politician who once lived in a house in this area.
