Palace of Roman Catholic Archbishops
On the territory of Lviv survived more than 16 buildings, related to the activities of the Catholic community. This functioning churches, and other structures in which to work, relax, socialize, and lived Catholic ministers. One of such places - Latin Archbishops Palace, which is located in the historic center of the city .
This stately mansion was built in the 19th century. His appearance is logically completed the creation of a single spiritual and architectural complex, which now stands in the center of the city. Mansion that was built next to the church of the Carmelites Discalced and the church of St. Casimir, was to serve as a place of rest, prayer meetings and Catholic priests of the highest rank.
Religious building in the classical style has survived many historical events. At various times, this building was the residence of the sacral museum and military hospital. Since 1970, the building was on the balance of the scientific institution, whose staff made every effort to keep the design as the building itself, and the interior of the palace, in particular frescoes.
Today, the Palace of the Latin bishops - a massive structure with a gable roof. Despite the classic style, the facade of the mansion is completely devoid of decoration (statues, pilasters, columns, moldings and other things). External decoration of the building emphasizes restraint and austerity. At the same time, this simplicity only adds mansion greatness, and creates a peaceful atmosphere around him.
