Tomb of Prince Svyatoslav, Skole
Today, the place of burial of Grand Prince Svyatoslav recalls only 18-meter cross. It is set near the town of Skole in the tract Svyatoslav in 2012.
Every year, on the way to "Skole Beskids" hundreds of tourists stop to pay homage to the son of Vladimir the Great.
Historians say that the cross set in place the alleged death of the prince at the hands of his brothers. According to legend, in 1015, after the death of Vladimir began fraternal strife in the struggle for the throne. Svyatoslav wanted to hide from death in the Carpathian Mountains, but did not. On the banks of the river Opir prince and his entourage were killed.
It is noteworthy that the historical events connected with the death of Svyatoslav, gave the name of the many nearby geographical features. For example, the city of Skole got its name from a phrase uttered brother Svyatoslav - "Cleave them all!".
