History Farmers Bank

In place of the Farmers Bank in 1900 was home of the famous native of Poltava Peter P. Staritskogo. At the time, the man was working on the Caucasian railways, where he became a well-known personality, and in 1871 resigned. Subsequently Starytsky moved to Poltava and became chairman of the county rural council that was a great post. And by 1903 the house his family lived is known for his work "Children Underground" Russian writer Vladimir Korolenko.

The bank was built in 1906-1909 years Poltava engineer SV Nosov designed by architect A. Kobelev Kiev. Poltava Branch of the Russian Land Bank, which published the establishment farmers loans to buy land parcels of land was created in this building in 1909. This department had the right to buy and sell land at its own expense and extend loans.

Farmers Bank was nationalized by decree of the Soviet Government of November 25, 1917. Since 1937 was used as an administrative building. During World War the building suffered a fire and was subsequently rebuilt in 1948.

Architecture
