Kudryntsi Castle
On the banks of the river in the village Zbruch Kudrintsy in Ternopil visible from afar the picturesque ruins of the castle Kudrinetskogo. Like most of the fortifications, built it on the mountain in the early 17th century, fleeing from the Tatar raids and Wallachian (next was Moldovan border and passed Wallachian way).
Well fortified castle, built by the Polish magnates Herburt coat of arms, served as a reliable protection. Situated on a rocky mountain cape. Under the eastern wall of the castle was a steep cliff to the river. On the north side of the castle the way enemies block the moat and ramparts. The city walls tetrahedral structures built of sandstone, with three sides of a tower.
But the castle was not so unassailable: in 1848 it won without a fight Cossacks led by Maxim Krivonos, displacing the Polish gentry. Twice the Turks captured the fortress. Of them remained sad legend about a girl immured within the walls of the spirit through the castle. Another legend tells of hidden treasures, from which the land is abuzz.
Until recently, the castle was an underground passage in one of the towers, he is now littered with earth and stones.
