Rock Monastery, Monastyrok

According to historical evidence, there was a temple of the ancient Slavs. Then hermits in 9-10 century founded a monastery. Above the cave entrance hangs a huge stone, it is supported by columns of flat blocks - this is the creation of human hands.
In the 17th century next to the rock was Basilian monastery founded by Stefan Potocki. It was destroyed by the Cossacks of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, but Jan Potocki restored. He built Holy Cross Church has survived, rebuilt and now serves as a believer.
By the rock temples from it leads the way indicated by 12 crosses. One of its walls is like the iconostasis: it depicts Jesus with his eyes closed - as if Christ could not look at the sins of men. According to legend, the image was the monks in the form of light and shadow. They brought it with paint, and get the icon. The cave is also preserved ancient altar.
Near the entrance to the cave temple has a mysterious stone. A huge slab rests on three pillars of stone. Most likely, it was the altar: it is the cross and furrows are likely to drain the blood. It is also called "stone Dovbusha."
