Museum of German colonists

House-museum of German colonists located in the village Ruchaevka Zaporozhye region. Founder of the museum is considered Viktor Dick. He is a descendant of ethnic Germans who lived in the village until World War II. In the 1990s, Dick bought a house that once belonged to his family and decided to open it in a museum.

The village was founded   in the second half of the 19th century as a German colony.   The population consisted of several hundred people. Settlement infrastructure was well developed, there is a school, a prayer house and shop. After World War II, when the German army left the village, she took with him all his countrymen in Germany. People leaving, throwing house with all the objects of everyday life, which eventually formed the basis for the museum.

The house, which now houses a museum,   was built in 1896   Arnold Peters. The museum presents the tools, instruments and household items, antique furniture, clocks German settlers and a large number of tiles. In the attic is acting smokehouse. On request possible   Seen tasting   which presents German sausages and beer of own production, as well as bread and baked potatoes.

The museum is open from 09:00 to 18:00 every day (except Monday). The order of the tour, during which the owner of the house tells a lot of interesting stories and mysteries of the life of the Germans.
