Holy Transfiguration Church, Zaluzhzhya
The village Zaluzha on Chernecha mountain proudly directs their crosses in the sky church with seven centuries of history. According to local legend protective monastery appeared on the mountain in the 13th century, and being part of a defensive structure, had a secret passage connecting it to the old fortress Zbarazh . In the second half of the 15th century monastery destroyed Khan`s horde, but it was restored by Prince Vladimir Zbarazhsky and surrounded by a high wall thickness of 1 meter.
Following the destruction of the monastery happened with the invasion of the Tatars in 1589, the same year was demolished and Starozbarazhskuyu fortress. Restore the monastery started in 11 years, and the fortress was moved to 3 kilometers to the east.
Church bell tower was equipped with a tower defense two floors. Loopholes in the belfry watched three sides, wall thickness greater than 1.5 meters, and the entrance was located on the south side, where the sundial. In 1786 the monastery was abolished. Recently Transfiguration Church was restored.
