Tomb Nachman

Rebbe Nachman found repose in the cemetery of Uman for the Jews, so it was his last will. Tzadik, which in Hebrew means "righteous," Rabbi died in 1810 at age 38 of tuberculosis.   He was the founder of the orthodox branch of Judaism.

When Ukraine came Nazi persecution of the Jewish people, the grave of the righteous was razed to the ground. And the Soviet government ordered the construction of a new residential area on the site of the former cemetery. Since Ukraine gained independence in Uman began to arrive, those who remembered where he is buried main Hasid world. Over time, the followers of Nachman bought all the houses in the neighborhood treasured place and built a temporary synagogue.

Today   Nachman`s grave became a place of righteous numerous pilgrimage Hasidim from around the world.   Every year in early autumn, before the onset of Rosh Hashanah in the synagogue, built on a grave Rebbe, gather thousands of believers.
