Museum Rusnak

Dubivtsi small village, situated in the district of Kitsmanivskomu Chernivtsi region became famous throughout the world, because here was born one of the best voices Ukraine, the famous opera singer Orest Rusnak (1895-1960). In memory of the famous native village opened its inhabitants Memorial Museum Rusnak, who will introduce you to this extraordinary personality Bukovina.

Life of Orest Rusnak

Tenor singer born in the family priest. The beginning of his career was the local church, where he sang in the choir. In 1923 he graduated from the Prague Conservatory, continued his education in Milan. He was a leading voice in opera productions all over Europe. Since 1924 acted Keninhsberzi, Graz, Munich, Vienna, Berlin and other cities. In 1928, the singer came to Bukovina and gave two concerts in the city theater. We perform operas by Puccini, Rossini, Verdi. While often staged and performed operas by Ukrainian composers, including Vladimir Lysenko. He warmly welcomed in many cities of Ukraine.

The museum collection

Museum room was opened in 1995 on the centenary of his birth in the village school by local enthusiasts. They supported it ever since.

The museum is located in a small room. Here are pictures of the singer, newspaper clippings and personal belongings of his family. Also viewed the history of his work. A booth will tell you about his brother, Denis Rusnak. He was a great singer, conductor. A separate small exhibition devoted to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Orestes.

Getting there

Rusnak Museum is located in the center of the village Dubivtsi Street Bukovina, 3. It`s best reached by bus from Chernivtsi to Kitsmane , Kolomyja or Ivano-Frankivsk . Own transport can go along the road H-10 Ivano-Frankivsk - Chernivtsi. Near the village Beregomet should pay Dubivtsi the village, which is located 2 km from the main road.
