Turkish bastion, Kamenetz-Podolsk

Turkish bastion - fortification in the Old Town Kamenetz-Podolsk . This attraction is an architectural monument of national importance in Ukraine. Bastion is considered part of the northwestern fortifications, the main building were the Polish Gate . During the period of occupation of the city by the Turks in the years 1672-1699 bastion has been significantly improved, from which came its name. A large building, whose height is about 11 meters, consists of four arches. They placed casements premises, parapets and loopholes for guns. In 1753, under the direction of a German engineer Christian Dahlke was reconstructed bastion, after which he received his second name - Fort Dahlke.
