Assumption Catholic Church, Bolekhiv

The first wooden church was built in Bolekhov   in the late 16th century. In 1730, construction began on the stone church and ended after 8 years. During the construction of the cathedral was admitted to a number of engineering inaccuracies that led to the destruction of the temple. And in its place in the 20s of the 19th century was built Assumption Church, acting today.

Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary   built in the Art Nouveau style. Its main entrance is decorated with a colonnade, and on the roof of the portico is arranged a small terrace. Arched windows, white walls and bell tower was added to the compact temple some fragility.

With the advent of the Soviet regime abolished the church, and within its walls arranged gym. Later the church was converted into a boiler room and used, so until 1994. After Ukraine gained independence the church was returned to the Catholic community of the city. In 2000, the restoration of the temple was finished.

This is not the only religious building of the city, which travelers can visit. Being in Bolekhov worth to visit the historical museum and the church of St. Paraskeva .   City Hall   Built in 1863 and saltworks also await visitors.
