Bishops House, Kherson
Bishops House is located in Kherson . It was built in 1820, originally it had two floors, have survived to this day. The building itself is made classic style. It was built as a shelter for the Chief of the Admiralty city. With the construction of facilities used a combination of religious and residential buildings.
In 1827, the Admiralty was broken and the room is left abandoned. Over time, the building began to be used as a repository for archived documents. Only in 1846, the clergy were collected funds for the purchase and renovation of the building. In 1874, the room was rebuilt in the chapel, which is in the same year and sanctified, even though the repair was completed only one year. Since 1925 the premises of the church was a specialized boarding school, and then there was located sanatorium for children. Only in 1992 the church building was returned to the Orthodox community.
