Watchtower, Cossack
Near the village of Cossack , which is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region is watchtower. Its construction dates back to the 80s of the 19th century. Presumably, the first tower on this place was built in the period of the Grand Duchy of Vytautas in the late 14th century. At that time there was the border of Lithuania. Then, probably, the tower was used as a defensive structure.
Tower presented today stands on the ruins of the old. It was built as a water tower for water supply in the estate of Prince Trubetskoy. Soon, the fourth tier with semicircular windows, typical pseudo-Gothic style.
The tower is located on the flat terrain of the road. It is made of rough stone. Clearly visible boundary between its constituent tiers. The walls are in the open air, because the construction is not covered by a roof.
