Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Lower Verbizh
In the village of Lower Verbizh is the Church of Nativity, built in 1808. Start of construction according to different sources dates back to 1756 and 1788 years. Built it at the expense of one of the locals G. Semeniuk, which according to popular legend, so wanted to atone for his sins. Construction of the temple took about 20 years.
Cruciform church refers to the recognized masterpieces of wooden architecture Gutsulschiny. The first tier of the temple from the outside is painted in dark red color with small patches of white shade near windows and side of log cabins. Above the main entrance to save the image of the Virgin. Windows in the church almost none. By the main entrance to the church is a wide paved path paving slabs.
Temple complements the beauty of the surrounding landscape, while giving it a fabulous and greatness. In the 90s of the 20th century church building underwent a major reconstruction. Temple lost some its original appearance, most notably in its coverage. Ancient shingle coating on roofs and domes during the reconstruction was changed to galvanized steel. Even after servicing the church has not lost its appeal and unique Western-Ukrainian style.
Since 2013, the temple in the Lower Verbizh is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Currently, the church is open for visits and waiting connoisseurs outstanding architectural structures of ancient culture and history, which lasted more than one century.
