Regional Museum, Athens
Historic building with a long history, the one-time home of Jesuit monks, today opened its doors to all residents and guests of Vinnitsa. The room is part of the historical and architectural complex "Mura" , settled Regional Museum.
Local intellectuals founded the museum after the Revolution - in 1918. Initially, it had been given under severe konkvita cells. However, in the 70s of the last century the premises of the museum expanded, having completed the glass facade.
Local History Museum is the center of the eastern region of Podolia memos. Its collection contains more than one hundred thousand copies. This collection of ancient weapons, unique minerals, gold ornaments belonging to the Sarmatian and Scythian period, a large ethnographic exhibition. Here you can see the embroidery, weaving products, pottery, as well as get acquainted with the painting masters of this land. In addition, everyone will be able to visit the old library, where since 1920 are kept rare editions dating from the 18th century.
The main "highlight" of the museum is the skeleton of a mammoth discovered in the region. It is located behind a glass facade, so that this exhibit can see every passer-by, just looking out the window.
