Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park

Desnyansko-Starogutsky park is located in the north-east of Ukraine in Sumy region. Its area covers more than 16,000 hectares. The reserve was established in 1999, it can be divided by landscape conditions on the part of the Desna and Starogutsky.

Within the park there is a factory of the Desna River, forming meadows and lots of small and large lakes, creating a unique natural conditions. In the future, it is possible to create a single set of environmental "Starogutsky and Bryansk forests."

Throughout the territory of the reserve is dominated by coniferous forests, which make up more than 80% of the total forest area. The fauna of the park is represented by animals and birds who prefer dry land, marsh creeks and meadows. These include beaver, deer, wolf, marten, ermine, elk, wild boar, fox, otter. More than just a national park presents birds. There are more than 210 species. The flora of the area is expressed in the deciduous forests and rare species of grasses listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. In total there are more than 800 species of plants.

The park was created to preserve the unique nature, as well as for the creation of its recreational areas and sustainable land use. Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park - an ecologically clean area, nature reserve and recreation area for residents of nearby towns and tourists.
