Choral Synagogue in Berdichev was built one of the first of its kind in the synagogues of the Russian Empire. She played a very important role in the life of the Jewish community in the city. History of the Choral Synagogue
In 1850 was built the Grand Choral Synagogue, built at the expense of the Jewish community in Berdichev. It is known that 93% of the population were Jews. Chorale - church choir chant. In 1964, the government finally seized the building and opened it a factory for the production of gloves, which still exists. Over time, the building was completely renovated for industrial needs.
Architecture Building
The two-story structure was built from colored pink brick with white embossed. The synagogue was built of rectangular shape with a large hall inside the building. The second floor has a gallery for women. Preserved facades, decorated in baroque style. On the main facade is made the central projection, which is decorated with stucco decorations and limited gable roof. Initially External Expansion of the building is almost preserved.
