Church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, Zaporozhye
Near the island of Khortytsya is a residential area Khortitskiy (Baburka). In an apartment high-rise building in January 1991 it held the first service of Evangelical Christian Baptists. Since then, gathering every Friday at each other`s apartments, began operations as a part of the local church of about 30 people. After a while it was decided to register the Christian community. By the end of 1991, the community has grown settled in the hall of the hostel outside Lahti.
The history of the Church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists
At the end of February 1992 for the construction of the community`s own house of worship has been allocated a plot of land on the street Budyonny. Plant "Zaporizhstal" has helped with a metal fence. Construction work was carried out by the community members themselves, the number of which to the end of 1992 increased to 100 people. Sometimes that ministry were directly on the construction site, which lasted for more than 6 years. After the fall of the "Iron Curtain" the community of the church were twinned in America and Canada. Their members are volunteers came to help in the construction. A team of believers from Chernivtsi made interior design house, and a believer out exactly painted a picture on the wall above the choir.
In July 1998, the community held a vigil to mark the consecration of a new house of worship, which includes himself prayer, Sunday school and an orphanage charity. For 7 years, the number of parishioners grew to 300 people.
Denomination Evangelical Christian Baptists is one of the largest denominations of Christianity. The distinguishing feature of its members is to maintain godly lifestyle.
