Gaivoronskaya narrow-gauge railway, Haivoron

Gaivoronskaya narrow-gauge railway, Haivoron

NGR in Gayvoron - one of the most interesting monuments of Ukraine.

All probably heard about narrow gauge railway in the Rivne region - Antonivka - Zarechnoye. She rides every day, the train can meet both local residents and tourists. "Kukushka" (so called local train) ride Polissian forests, enabling people from very remote villages to reach the regional centers Volodymyrets or Zarechny. Its length - 106 kilometers, and guides often point out that this is the longest narrow-gauge railway operating in Ukraine. But it is not. The longest in Ukraine and Europe recognized Gayvoronsky narrow gauge railway, its length is 130 kilometers up!

NGR history in Gayvoron

It all started with Strunkova (now territory Haivoron). It was here in 1897, raced through the narrow gauge line of the heater (now a territory of neighboring Moldova) to Rudnytsi, rook, Golovanivs`k, Suburban. At the same time Strunkovi station was built, which still takes passengers.

Gaivoron narrow gauge still carries passengers

NGR in Gayvoron was slightly shorter than ever. Its line stretches from Rudnytsi to Golovanivs`k. Track width toy looks - some 75 centimeters! A narrow gauge railway serving the whole locomotive depot, which can be seen as operating locomotives (Soviet Tu-2) and retro variants (Belgian locomotive MT-202 and Gr-280). The latter, incidentally, can be booked for excursions. But do not have in order Gayvoron and in Smela, where is the guide rail.

Unfortunately, this "highlight" of Kirovograd unfairly ignored tourists.

Getting to narrow Gayvoronsky

Need to find a train station. It is located on the street Railway 3
