Supiy River Lake, Yagotin

City Yahotyn than big park decorated Supy lake created hetman Razumovsky. Today, the lake consists of two major parts, separated by a strip of marshy land and a dam.

History of the lake

Yagotynske artificial lake formed by the dam built by Hetman in 1765 on the river soup. In ancient times, this place was a lot of swamp, but that year Kirill Razumovsky ordered the river to fill a huge dam.

It was a titanic work at that time. Hundreds, if not thousands of serfs and mercenaries covered river and dam building. The water in the river rose and flooded the valley with mud. Today the lake divided into two parts: large and small soup.

In Yahotyn on the banks of the lake formed housed three villages:

• Cherkasivka;
• Red beyond the river;
• Zasupoyivka.

At the lake in the summer you can see many tourists. They come here not only local residents, but also from neighboring towns.

In Great soup had a stocking carp, Amur, carp, lyaschem, carp, perch, ruff and many other species of river fish. Lake did not let down for about three years. It is planned to conduct fishing in several places: on the peninsula and along the dam.

Getting there

From the shores of Lake City Yahotyn adjacent to Yahotyn park, located on Independence Street. The lake can be seen right at the entrance to the city.
