Black forest
Black Forest mysterious natural objects in the center of Kirovograd region. It located in Znamenskoye and Alexander areas. From different sides of the forest on the outskirts of the village are Bogdanovka , Tsibulevo and the city of Znamenka .
In the past, the forest area occupied a much larger area than today. In 1975, part of the territory of the Black Forest was declared Reserve of national importance. Wood gained in these forests, was the construction of the Black Sea Fleet and the city of Kirovograd .
Among the vegetation is dominated by the Black Forest trees such as the English oak and hornbeam. There are also linden, maple, aspen, ash and hazel. Many species of plants that can be found on the territory of woods are rare and not typical for central Ukraine. Some of them are listed as endangered. The forest is the same name swamp. It is a hydrological natural monument. In the center of the marsh is a lake Berestovatoe. It is the most enigmatic and mysterious lake not only in the Kirovograd region, but throughout Ukraine. Until now, it remains unknown depth.
In 1949, excavations were carried out in the woods and found the remains of the ancient city. Also among the local population it is rumored that in the middle of the forest during the Soviet era were built secret facilities. Black Forest continues to be a favorite place among mushroom pickers
