Church of the Assumption (Slavske)

Urban village Slavske is located in the valley of the rivers and Slava Opir that occur among the picturesque Carpathian Mountains arrays. Most people know this place as comfortable ski resort. However, there are many attractions not only natural character. Slavskoe will long be remembered, if you visit a local Christian church - Church of the Assumption.
Full name sounds like a church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was built by the local community in 1901 and is the main attraction of the village and decoration. The building was erected in accordance with the drawings Ukrainian architect Vasily Nagirnogo. The interior decoration of the Assumption Church clearly see the influence of folk art.
On the place where was built a stone church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, related an interesting legend. Locals say that there twice fell torn by the wind cross the old wooden church, which was located on a nearby hill. From the old wooden buildings still preserved tower, which can visit anyone.
At the initiative of the rector of Assumption Church Father Andrew Petrishicha, near the temple is a monument to the writer, public figure and priest Nicholas Ustiyanovichu who lived in Slavsko.
