Shpihler (Drohobych)
In the Lviv region is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine - Drohobych , which in 2001 celebrated its 1000 years. It is no wonder that this place is rich in attractions that allow to get to know the country`s history. One of these attractions is the so-called Shpihler.
Shpihler - is an ancient building barns or urban barn, which is today considered a unique architectural monument of national importance. Construction of the grain began in 1778 under the decree of the Austro-Hungarian authorities. The thick walls of buildings intended for the storage of grain reserves in the event of a natural disaster or siege.
In the guise of Shpihlera still guessed Baroque style. This is a massive building with small windows is divided into 4 tiers for storing different types of crops. Today it held extensive restoration work with the aim of opening of the museum.
