Historical and Ethnographic Museum "Boykivshchyna"
The first meeting of the society "Boykivshchyna" took place in October 1927. On this day Samborski intellectuals Ukrainians decided to found the eponymous museum to preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage. The fact is that during this period the mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire collapsed, and most of the Ukrainian lands in the hands of Poland. From the earliest days of the Polish occupation, they forced polonization Ukrainians that could not cause resistance from the people.
For more than 12 years of the existence of members of the society and the museum "Boykivshchyna" managed to do a great job. Unfortunately, in 1954 the Soviet government decided to abolish the activity of the museum.
The revival of historical and ethnographic center Sambora coincided with the proclamation of independence of Ukraine, and in 1991 the museum again resumed his work. By all means "Boykivshchyna" is the development of culture and trying to maintain the historical and artistic heritage of the Ukrainian people. There is an active scientific activity, held a variety of seminars and conferences.
On weekdays, the museum doors are open from 9:00 to 18:00.
