Dzvonkovaya Krynica

Dzvonkovaya Krynica

Dzvonkovaya Krynica - an ancient source that is in Mezhigorskaya tract . This facility is the only reminder of the fact that previously was located here Kiev-Mezhigorskaya Transfiguration Monastery. Since this place is connected one old legend. Source name supposedly comes from the monks established a whole system of bells, which gave carillon. According to another version, here cast bells.

It is said that the monastery by their appearance obliged to Prince Vladimir the Great or Andrew Bogoliubsky, just install and failed. The first written mention of this place date back to a later period and relate to the 15th century, when the monastery was called Cossack. This name was due to the fact that the shrine supported hetmans Sagaydachnogo and Bohdan Khmelnytsky.

Unfortunately, in 1934 the monastery was blown up, and in its place erected a cottage settlement of the current party elite. All that remains of the former monastery - the source from which water has a metallic taste due to the high concentration of iron.
