Holy Candlemas Church, Sulimovka

Sulimovka village was founded as a hamlet in 1714 by Colonel Ivan Sulima, and in the late 18th century, it became the possession of the Cossack and his family.

Information about the presence of the church in Sulimovke absent until the early 20th century. Money collected at the temple throughout the Russian empire.   Engaged in the construction of a local resident Philip Kirik and family Dzevonovskih boyars. Their family gave the church painted icons "Golgotha".   Erected church under the direction of architect Kabanov.

In June 1924, in the village was opened Komsomol organization, with its appearance of a church in Sulimovke was closed and the last priest was expelled from the village.   In 1930 he set up the farm, by the time the temple was closed and ruined.   The iconostasis was defeated, crosses kick them down. The temple was discovered granary.

In 1942, during the German occupation, the church was again in force, there have been held the first worship. So the temple worked until 1959. When   during the Khrushchev persecution of the Orthodox Church was again banned, the temple was closed. Only in late 1989, the villagers again regained their spiritual center. In a short time when the temple was built winter altar.   In 2005, the Holy Candlemas Church celebrated its centenary - were held festive liturgy, prayers were heard.
