Strukovsky (Ascension) church, Yassin

Ascension or Strukovsky church - a real pride of the village Yassin and all Hutsul region. Built it at the beginning of 1824 on the slopes Kosterivki - amazingly beautiful mountains.

His second name the church received on behalf of a local shepherd Ivan Struk. This is not surprising, because his name is associated with the base and the church itself. This amazing story know all the locals and are happy to share it with visitors.

The church has five log cabins, a cruciform plan and a dome made in the form of an octahedron. It was built entirely of wood.

The temple consists of three tiers, so it seems more massive and heavy. Not far from the city`s bell tower, which was built a little earlier than the church itself - in 1813. Its height is 11 meters.

Strukovsky church is one of the brightest and most significant monuments of the Hutsul folk architecture.
