Church of St. Elias, Chinadievo

Greek Catholic Church of St. Elijah is in the village Chinadievo in Transcarpathia. The temple is an ancient cult construction. Tourists and worshipers beckons here not only its beauty, but also a mysterious relic, which is kept in the temple.

The church was rebuilt from the Catholic Church in the 14th century. From the beginning, the church was made in the Gothic style, but subsequent repairs and alterations have changed it. Now you can see the Art Nouveau, Baroque and Classicism. In 2002, near the Chinadievo, Mukachevo loggers cut down trees, they came across a pack of beech wood, which they could not split. After much effort they threw it and it split itself. What was their surprise when on the inside of both halves, they saw the image of the cross. At first they were frightened, but then decided to transfer one half of the Orthodox church in the village Berestovo, and the second - in the Church of St. Elijah in Chinadievo. This relic is worth seeing with my own eyes.
