Museum of Lemko culture Monastyryska

In a small town Monastyriska is a museum of Lemko culture. Once these first settlers took place Lemke, who had to leave their ethnic homeland and move here from Poland and Slovakia.
Active work on the collection of museum exhibits held since the beginning of the beginning of the 90s of the 20th century. Initiative to organize the museum took over the local NGO called "Lemko". Suitable premises were obtained in 1996. They became a former power station. Grand opening of the museum in Monastyriska held in autumn 1996.
Within the walls of the museum presents the various items: furniture, clothes, shoes, kitchen utensils, books, folk costumes, etc. All museum visitors also have the opportunity to attend the annual etnofestivalyu, which is held in Monastyriska.
For more than 15 years of museum culture and life Lemko successfully developed. To date, the total number of museum exhibits has reached 2,000.
