Pottery Museum, Kobolchyn
Village Kobolchyn that Sokyriany district of Chernivtsi region, long famous for its pottery traditions. Here dynasties involved in this profession since ancient times. Local residents decided to share with the world their achievements in this difficult case and opened a pottery museum in Kobolchyn, which aims to acquaint visitors with the Pottery and tell villagers about life in the past.
The museum`s collection of pottery
The collection is quite large - more than 1,000 exhibits of the museum managed to collect workers in Kobolchyn for a short period of time. You can see the pots of various shapes, other pottery, which are made by local craftsmen in the last hundred years.
The museum also tell you about the process of making clay products. The exhibition represented a large pottery kiln, a potter`s implements. In addition, it operates operating pottery workshop where visitors can see the process of making clay products with their own eyes, and even contribute to it.
Also, the museum presents the history Kobolchyn collected things domestic consumption used by farmers in the early 20th century, furniture, carpets and embroidered towels. However, it will reveal the history of the village to travelers and to introduce the culture of the locals.
History museum
It currently very young - it opened in 2008, and it is truly unique, as similar institutions in Ukraine unit. The initiative to open and its implementation belongs to a native village and Honored Worker of Culture Ivan Honchar. He managed to gather a collection of the museum, organize and present it to the public.
How to get there
Pottery Museum is located in the center Kobolchyn Sokyryany area. Preferred own transport to get here, paying close Khotina by road P-63 toward Sokyriany. If you prefer public transport, use buses traveling from Chernivtsi to Sokyriany, traveling through Kobolchyn. You can also get suburban train Chernivtsi - Sokyriany, and further regional buses to get to Kobolchyn or end station or from the station Romankivtsi.
