Irdynskyi Vynohradskyi Holy Assumption Monastery

The first literary mention of Vinogradsky Dormition monastery dating from the early 17th century. But not known when the monastery was built. The name "Irdynskyy" comes from the river Irdyn flowing nearby. The name "Vinogradsky" was fixed later, when the monks planted vineyards from thence a few miles from the monastery.

Economic activity monks were various. In particular, in the monastery garden for sale cultivated variety, including their own, varieties of plums and apples. A profit from the sale of vegetables, fruit, dairy products and eggs. Seriously engaged in animal husbandry - bred bulls, cows, bulls, calves and horses. Also monks had income from the provision of church and religious services.

Were in the history of the monastery and sad moments. It is believed that the monastery suffered most from the Turks and Tatars, who always carried foray into these places, as well as the Poles fought with Orthodoxy, spreading adapted. But the complete destruction of the Holy Dormition Monastery has happened in the Soviet era. Initially, the new government has made the monastery a haven for leprosy patients, and later - a mental boarding.

So far, none of the buildings Winogradsky Holy Dormition Monastery was not preserved. Survived only underground cell, the only branched cave complex. Time of occurrence of these caves is unknown, but by conviction monks, they existed since the 14th century.
