Church of St. Paraskeva, Chaikino

A small border village Chaykyne known throughout Ukraine, because here was born the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. For a long time the local had its own church, so in 2001 the village was officially opened St. Paraskeva.

The first mention of Chaykyne dates back to the 18th century, but the village long believed hamlet, own church was not here. In the temple, people went to the nearby village Kostobobriv , there baptized children and commemorate the dead.

Church of Sts. Paraskeva in the village Chaykyne was built from 1997 to 2001. The funds allocated for the construction of Leonid Kuchma. The new church was dedicated in honor of the mother of President - Paraskeva Trohymivna. At the consecration came Kyiv Metropolitan Volodymyr (RP UPC).

Church of Sts. Paraskeva impresses with its size and grandeur. The domes are covered with gold leaf. The church interior has the features of classicism and baroque, and skillfully made iconostasis blends harmoniously into the temple area.

Chaykyne village is remote from major highways Chernigov. The nearest railway station - Uhly . From here you can get to suburban train Semenivka , Novgorod-Seversky , Shostka and Voronezh .

Church of Sts. Paraskeva is located in the center of the village by the road.
