History Museum "Boikovshchina" Rozhnyatov
Boykivshchyna - is the central area of the Ukrainian Carpathians, covering a number of areas. It is home to an ethnic group of people - brisk. For the first time the name is mentioned in ancient documents in the 17-18 centuries. Medieval chronicles also mention the entire villages, which were home to the strikers. These villages are located in the mountains and valleys, they have their own customs and peculiarities. Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko perfectly describes Boiko in his historical novel "Zahar Berkut".
History Museum "Boykivshchyna" located in the village Rozhnyatov . It occupies an old mansion, built in the early 20th century Ukrainian Count Dumka. In Soviet times, the building housed the court, and later - the museum of the artist, ethnographer and social activist Vladimir Kharchenko.
More than 400 rare objects can tell about the evolution of this land, from the 2nd century to the present. The museum features folk and sacred art. There are also paintings of the artist kept Kharchenko.
The exhibits are divided into three themed room. The first illustrates the history of the region. The second - is devoted entirely to strikers. Demonstrates boykovskoe folk art, objects of cult and the interior life. Also in the museum you can see a fragment of the iconostasis of St. Basil, escaped after the devastation and destruction in the 70s Rozhnyatovskogo church. The third room is shown amazing collection of pitchers made by the strikers. There are more than 90 pieces.
