Transfiguration Church, Sarni

Unusual gray stone building in the Art Nouveau style   downtown   Sarna - a church of the Transfiguration. It was founded in 1936 on the site of an old dilapidated by the time wooden church. The appearance of this sanctuary are directly related students of the Jagiellonian University of Cracow. They have created a project of the temple, as well as donated for its construction all the necessary finances.

In the process of building the church, local authorities intervened. They felt that the believers will be enough to have the main building of the church, so the bell tower remained unfinished. In those days, the Poles against their will began to leave Sarna, so in 1945, was forced to leave and the last rector of the church Yang Lenin.

Temple in its history been used for different purposes. Rectory was converted under the military commissariat, later in this building courses were organized civil defense and motorists. For a long time the premises of the church was used as a grocery store. Only in 1991 the Church of the Transfiguration was returned to his parishioners. A   in 1995 the temple was returned restored image of Our Lady of Mercy, at the same time in the renovated Catholic shrine held the first Mass.
