Ruins of St John the Baptist Church, Muzhievo
The ruins of the church of St. John the Baptist have historical value. The church was erected in 1117 in Romanesque style strictly. The ruins of the temple can be immediately seen in the field at the entrance to the village from the city Beregovo Transcarpathian region. At the moment of the temple there were only powerful leftovers.
In the 16th century the building was reconstructed, giving it a novelty and restore its Gothic features. But since 1657, when the temple was destroyed by the Poles, it is no longer reconstructed and was left in ruins.
The ruins of the temple are considered an architectural monument of Transcarpathia. In the construction of its creators clearly showed how skillfully and masterfully they owned stone. Remains of buildings have retained the former grandeur of the building and presented an altar corbel arches and nave. Locals to preserve the memory of this valuable architectural complex, regularly support its present state.
