Church of St John the Baptist, Kidiosh
In the Transcarpathian region have a small village Kidesh, it is located near the city Beregove (5 km). There is one interesting exhibit that is worth seeing. It is in this place is the church of St. John the Baptist. This temple was built back in the 12-14 century, and the original purpose, which served to build this building, it was the defense function, except that it was conceived as a Catholic. With this church associate the name of the Hungarian king Sholomona who was the son of Anastasia of Kiev, and she, in turn, was the daughter of the famous Kiev Prince Yaroslav the Wise. Pro defensive value of this church can also be judged by looking at the thickness of the walls in the window openings in the apse of the church (apse - a protrusion in the building of the temple, in the Christian church is the place served as an altar ledge).
To date, the Church of St. John the Baptist is not used as a Catholic church, and acts as a Reformed Church. This temple is a pretty interesting place to mark it on your tourist route in Transcarpathia and Ukraine as a whole.
