Exaltation church, town
Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Catholic church is considered the main town located 31 km from Lviv . The temple is located in the center of the Old Town. It is assumed that the first wooden church was built on the site Polish Vladislav Opolczyk governor in 1372.
Not far from the church is a cemetery and belfry.
In 1553, on the orders of King Wladyslaw Jagiello wooden structure was demolished and built a new brick church. Unfortunately, in 1616 the church, together with all the city was utterly destroyed by fire. Temple has experienced many renovations. The architect of the modern building made B. Victor, the work carried out in the 30s of the last century. Since then, the appearance of the building did not change anything. The architecture of the church combines the features of Baroque, Gothic and Modernism. Interestingly, the ancient white stone portal was built into the north wall of the extension.
The facade of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross is decorated with three sculptures of unknown authors: it is the Apostles Peter and Paul, a sculpture of Our Lady.
