Nicholas Church, Vilshany

Nicholas Church in the village Olshany is one of the oldest temples Slobozhanshchina who miraculously survived to the present day. The exact date of its construction is unknown,   according to some sources, it was in 1753, on the other - 1741. In 1793 it was reconstructed cathedral. Trehkupolnaya composition of the temple is a typical wooden churches in Ukraine. In the early 20th century the church expanded and built a side arches.

During World War II prisoners of war kept there and held mass graves. In the Soviet period, the temple remained in force, but a few years, he served as a warehouse. At the same time the church was redecorated and was attached brick bell tower. Small restoration helped preserve the four evangelists images that adorned the walls of the church, and to bring to our days in its original form   the only authentic painted churches Slobozhanshchina early 18th century. It became the main decoration of the cathedral and its tourist pearl.
