Church of St. Michael and Dominic in Lyubar

First name   Lyubar   (Now a small town in the Zhytomyr region) is mentioned in 1604 - on behalf of the Lithuanian Grand Duke of Westminster.

In 1634, founded a monastery here Dominican Republic. At the same time, Prince S. Lubomirski and raised a Catholic church. In the days of the rebel war in the mid-17th century it was destroyed by the Cossacks. It was only in 1752 restored the shrine already F. Lubomirski and made consecrated in honor of St. Michael and Jan Nepomuk.

Now from the Dominican monastery church was only. There holds many icons, there was a huge library.   There remained the miraculous icon of the crucified Jesus, who went to the crowds of pilgrims who were healed by praying beside her.

In 1864 the monastery was closed. The church became a parish. In Soviet times, he did not act. Now   resumed service and called the Church of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Dominic.
