Monument Maclay

Monument Miklukho-Maclay is the home of the famous scientist, anthropologist and explorer in Malin   Zhytomyr region. Installed it in 1986 in honor of the 140th anniversary of the birth of figure.   The monument was created by sculptor P. Stepanov.

N. Maclay - representative of an ancient family of Cossacks. Most of his life he devoted a fascinating journey and research around the world. Worked in Australia, the Asian countries of Oceania. And only at the end of the activity returned home and began to study the culture of Polischuks.

The sculpture is cast in bronze, is medium in size and is located on a small pedestal. The scientist is depicted as a simple man with an open mind. It combines the spontaneity and love to everything around him: for nature, for people, for the world as a whole.
