Museum of Fine Arts named Buhanchuka

Museum of Fine Arts. I. Buhanchuka is located in the village Kmit . Museum was founded in 1974, a great lover of art and collector Joseph Buhanchukom. First, the museum housed in the walls of the school Studenetsky, then for him built a separate building. This unique rural art museum for a long time been the only state art museum in Zhytomyr .

The room for the museum built on a special individual project, which was led by the People`s architect Fomin. It turned out very spacious, large and bright. It is designed to make maximum use of natural light to illuminate rooms. I. Buhanchuk long collected materials for his museum and gave him 600 exhibits paintings from his own collection. At his request, the artists from different parts of the country passed their creations to replenish the museum. In addition, here they were transferred to 30 unique works from the Academy of Arts of the USSR. There are also many well-known artists from other countries gave him his job. Soon the museum`s collection was about 3 thousand copies of famous works of art. Basically, the work presented in the style of socialist realism.

In 1985 a new building for the Museum was opened, for the year of its work the museum was visited by about 40,000 visitors. Now it features original works of various artists such as S. Chuikov, V. Oreshnikova, T. Jablonsky, N. Glushchenko, and others. In addition, the museum demonstrates a separate exhibition devoted to arts and crafts and art industry of Ukraine. Here you can see the works of ceramics, crystal, there are tapestries and other interesting materials. The museum has 10 halls, they occupy an area of ​​1,500 square meters. m. Now the museum is open to everyone, as it hosts a variety of events and exhibitions.
