Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, Cherkassy Tishkov
Discreet in its architecture Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located near Kharkiv in the village Cherkassky Tishka and traces its history to 1830. The history of the church begins with 1772, when the site of the present building there was a small wooden church. Stone church was built at the expense of the landowner A. Tichotsky and faithful parishioners.
The villagers are proud of the historical value of the iconostasis of the shrine. Some of the icons for the church wrote Repin, who at that time was a student at the Art Academy. A. Tichotsky descendants continued the work of his grandfather. They contributed to the expansion of the shrine, which was held in 1906. During Soviet rule the church was closed and underwent great destruction. The temple was destroyed bell tower and dome.
Despite the difficult years of the war, in 1944, the community has made the opening of the church. Since worship is conducted in it to this day. By the 180th anniversary of the church in 2010 was opened Sunday school.
