Assumption Church, Zhydachiv

The Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the main architectural historical sites Zhidachova . It was founded in 1301. Originally made of wood, but in 1602 funding Ligenzy M. and J. Zhulchinskogo stone building was erected Assumption Church. In 1895 there was a fire in the church, and only in 1938 completed its reconstruction. The church was closed quite a long period in Soviet times, it even put the first bus, and then founded the museum. The history of the church of the Assumption

Earlier, on three hills in the country, according to an old legend, it was the family estate, which can be reached through an underground passage directly from the church. Exquisite portal shrines preserved from the time when the elder Zolchinsky presented to the church doors. At the same time the main altar was erected, dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. Still preserved even the old "aristocratic" stable, slightly transforming a modern building. Now houses classrooms and garages of local vocational school. Assumption Church in architecture combines traditional gothic features with elements of the Renaissance.

Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary located in the city center. On the territory of the church it was previously a wooden bell tower with a balcony, which destroyed in 1963.
