Monument-motorists

The author of the project was a local sculptor VI Shchedrov working together with the talented architect VS put. Experienced tandem gave the city an interesting design with the face of a soldier, a motorist who was captured by the authors while driving. The person-centered character and a bit harsh. All other details are missing, the creators chose to offer the viewer`s own continuation pattern. An important detail of the monument is a concrete platform in front of it. It crosses a tortuous trail of tires from a large truck, symbolizing the only thing that keeps the earth after the departure of the heroes.

The opening of the memorial was held in 1977, it was attended by about a hundred veterans and relatives of the victims.

Nearby attractions

Nearby there is a unique historical area in the territory of which in 1943 killed Major General V. Karuna. Here is his monument and a street named in honor of the memory. The general died a heroic death in battle of Dnipropetrovsk as part of the famous 152-th Infantry Division. In memory of these events in the city is a monument to the street Quay Factory.
