Monument to Taras Shevchenko, Myrgorod

Monument to Taras Shevchenko in Mirgorod was inaugurated in 1971, the 110 anniversary of the death of writer and artist. Interestingly, Mirgorodsky monument is a replica of the monument to Shevchenko in Moscow, which it set in 1964.

Work on the monument group performed graduate students of local ceramic college led by sculptor Leonid Petrovich Statkevich.
