Church of Santa Clara
Church of Santa Clara is located in the village area Gorodkovka Andrushevsky in Zhytomyr region. His appearance resembles a beautiful castle church of the Middle Ages, it was erected on the shore of a small lake and is clearly visible from afar.
The history of the Church of St. Clare
St. Clare was built in 1912. He wanted to build a Polish writer Efstafy Ivanovsky, who has lived almost his entire life in this village. He was a famous writer in Poland and created their works under a different name - Geleniush, I have always supported the Catholic faith and had a great desire to build a church in honor of Santa Clara - the patroness of his mother. It so happened that in 1903 the writer died before he could realize his plan into action. Before his death, he bequeathed to finish the church, his last wish fulfilled a resident of the same village A. Zhmigorodsky.
Inauguration of the Church of St. Clare was held in 1913. It was built of red brick, it has three bells, the largest of which weighed 150 kg. Instead of the usual windows in it were installed stained glass windows, a large beautiful crystal chandelier, organ walls are decorated with paintings.
Today, the church belongs to the Roman Catholic community of Carmelites, who conduct service here. The temple is preserved in almost perfect condition.
