IL-18B, Lutsk

IL-18B in one of the courtyards of Lutsk installed as aviapamyatnik Soviet civil aviation. It is located inside the semicircle of high-rise buildings on the large concrete area. The vehicle length is 35.9 meters and height - a little more than 10 meters, perfectly fit into the architecture of the densely populated yard. Aviapamyatnik original set in the 1980s. After 30 years, the plane is empty, serving as shade for the car park. Under a wingspan of 37.4 meters comfortably arranged private cars of residents of the yard.

History of the IL-18B

The aircraft was developed and tested in 1958 at an engineering plant "Banner of Labor." The model was designed for medium-range flights of civil aviation. Maximum capacity of interior is 80 to 122 people. Popular series produced a large number of ships, some of which after decommissioning were sent to different cities in the Union as a monument.

In Lutsk IL-18B was converted into a children`s theater with unusual seats. To climb aboard kinosamoleta, thereto were added two fixed ladders from different sides. In the 1990s, cinema was closed, the aircraft is located within the exotic bar.

In the 2000s, the IL-18B was closed to visitors. It currently is not used by any premises.

How to get to IL-18B

The monument is located in a residential area near the Avenue of Youth, which is easiest to reach from the adjacent avenue Reunion. It crosses the central part of Lutsk, rallying around itself all important streets and avenues of the city.
