Exhibition reproduced monuments of Old Russian literature, Kyiv, Kyiv
National Reserve "Sophia" invites you to the exhibition reproduced monuments of Old Russian literature "Books are the river that waters the whole universe ...". There will be 25 May 2015 at 16 o`clock at the Museum "House of the Metropolitan" (Exhibition Hall 2nd floor).
The exhibition is timed to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture (celebrated annually on 24 May, the day of commemoration of Saints Cyril and Methodius).
Exhibition "Books are the river that waters the whole universe ..." presents art manuscripts in our time with the studio works manuscripts Hrapaya George. Founder George Hrapay manuscript workshop, practitioner and calligrapher, over 25 years with a team of associates working on the reproduction of the ancient liturgical and secular manuscripts - masterpieces of Western manuscripts and ancient Slavic literacy and their individual pages and fragments.
During this time manually recreated over a hundred authentic copies of individual sheets of outstanding ancient manuscripts (ages 11-16).
Among them:
- Kyiv Psalter;
- Orsha Gospel;
- Lutsk Gospel;
- Reims Gospel and others.
Also hand-written pen and decorated several manuscripts.
They played such ancient texts:
- N Truth
- "Word on Law and Grace" Metropolitan Hilarion
- "Lay"
- "Tales of Life and feat Michael of Chernigov and his boyar Fedor"
- Lithuanian Statute of 1529 and others.
Masters use the ancient manner of writing and applying original and vintage machinery.
When creating genuine leaf manuscript in great detail reproduced handwritten font, miniature or fancy jewelry with careful reproduction of the original features: wear, defects and more.
The exhibition will feature authentic copy sheets:
- Lutsk Gospel;
- Peresopnytsia Gospel;
- played handwritten lists of n Truth;
- "Word on Law and Grace" Metropolitan Hilarion;
- Radzyvylivskoho chronicles and other monuments.
