Exhibition "Reshetilovka: in terms of embroidery and time", Kyiv, Kyiv

National Center of Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum" Ukrainian Center for Cultural Studies at the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Reshetylivka art vocational school and Reshetylivka District Museum are invited to the opening of the Poltava embroidery and weaving "Reshetilovka: in terms of embroidery and time" and Roundtable "Implementation of Ukraine Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage: threats, challenges and prospects".

The Independence Day of Ukraine, in the context of defense and protection of not only the nation, but also its important component of the nation - national and cultural identity, a number of cultural and scientific institutions gives actual problems of cultural heritage and modern art Ukraine, inviting the discussion in the expert environment on cultural policy in preserving distinctive cultural traditions of Ukraine and presenting them to the cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

However, in the hall of the Ivan Honchar Museum unfold art exhibition "Reshetilovka: traditions past and present", presenting bright element of intangible cultural heritage to be nominated as soon as possible to the national registry and the UNESCO list, which needs urgent protection.

The exhibition presents:

• unique samples of famous Poltava embroidery and weaving late XIX - early XX centuries;
• modern works of craftsmen Poltava.

Poltava folk art is inspired by the beauty of the earth, the energy of people who live in it, their harmony with the surrounding space.

The material and spiritual culture of this region indicates a long rich tradition in embroidery, weaving, carpet weaving, pottery and more.
